Bio

HEAVEN THE AXE are a hard rock/metal collective based in Melbourne Australia who have built a reputation for stomping riffs entwined with hypnotic and powerful female vocals and wild, high energy live drawcard performances. Word on the street is Heaven The Axe has the show you want to see AND hear... and word travels... maybe that's why metal artists such as Mitch Harris from UK Metallers Napalm Death are proudly wearing Heaven The Axe merch in their latest band photos?

But who are these strange wild creatures from Down Under? They look and sound beastly!
Look deeper and this band has a story.
But for now the short and curly of it!

'Sex, Chugs & Rock 'N' Roll' released in late 2011 has had the band burning bitumen and stages all over Australia in demand. From being the featured artist on Australian major national radio shows Triple J The Racket & Triple M Distortion who also named the band as one of the top heavy releases of the year to being named as one of the best Australian heavy bands in Heavy Magazine (National metal magazine) by writer/anchor 'Higgo', the band has set its sights on international touring to play in Asia, Canada, USA and UK. Invited as main support on the Rose Tattoo tour, their music is featured prominently in the just released Paramount feature film 'Housos VS Authortiy'. The band has achieved mega play as the televised soundtrack to V8 Supercars, major sporting events and numerous other TV shows.

Not everyone cares about industry accolades...or touring...mentions by industry bigwigs....being one of the only independent unsigned bands to have major sponsorship to fund the bands record costs....maybe they'd be interested in the value in the art of creating a music video out of thin air (thank Dio we're still breathing)? Or about utilising their musical spotlight to create several giant fund raising concerts for the benefit of their hometown in need or even for strangers kids in Nepal....

Cheeky first impressions deceive the depth of the character within this band., their music speaks intelligently of deep hurt and passion lived through, of an education on anger, commitment and honesty... to regaining empowerment and of undying unconditional love (that you didn't realise you felt before you heard their song).

They take you from these moments to wild extremes of tongue-in-cheek Aussie rock humour which will get you moshing along in your car, guaranteed.

The combination of tough and tight heavy masculine riffs entwined with a dominant feminine sophistication, poise and universal charm (the wolf in sheep's clothing) in Phoebes clever lyrics make this band far more than their wild and racy first impressions.

As the recent Australian finalist in the 2013 International Hard Rock Rising competition they are working hard on new material for their next album living together at the 'Axe Mansion'; touring through metropolitan and regional Australia with some of Australia's greatest metal acts; and seeking touring opportunities and connections abroad. Their new single 'Good Things Come To Those Who Hate' is about to be released. HEAVEN THE AXE will continue to be a band to hold onto in 2013 and beyond.
