Arcadia is a metal/hardcore band from Adelaide, South Australia.
The name Arcadia means a ‘region of simplicity and untouched quiet, a sort of utopia’. The ideas and impossibilities of such a place are what spawned the music of the band.
The question Arcadia poses is how can such a place exist? Their songs talk about many things that prevent this mythical world from existing. Topics like war, depression, substance abuse and confrontation form the meaning behind the bands music. Arcadia is a message that says ‘The world is not simple, and there’s no such thing as a perfect world’.
Arcadia’s musical style is a mash-up of aggressive hard rock riffs, soaring guitar solos and bone crushing hardcore breakdowns. With a mix of both dirty screaming and clean melodic vocals, Arcadia creates its distinct Metalcore sound, a sound that draws from all four band members broad musical tastes and influences.
Arcadia draws their inspiration from the stylings of Australian Hardcore legends Parkway Drive and I Killed The Prom Queen, American Metal champions Metallica, Killswitch Engage, All That Remains and Trivium and British powerhouse Iron Maiden. The band takes great pride in drawing inspiration from their heroes to produce music that instantly draws people in. They do this with their thick melodic riffs and catchy chorus melodies, splicing that together with brutal, inventive technical breakdowns that even catch people with heavier musical tastes off guard. The final product is a sound that is not only soulful and melodic, but crushing and honest.
