While the work on the debut album by German newcomer act Scarlet Dorn is currently under way at full blast at Hamburg’s Chameleon Studios under the direction of Chris Harms (Lord Of The Lost) and Benjamin Lawrenz, Oblivion/SPV have already announced some key data of their new signing. The debut single ´Hold On To Me` by the band surrounding vocalist/composer and namesake Scarlet Dorn is scheduled for release at the end of February, in time for the group’s tour supporting Letzte Instanz. Their subsequent tour with Joachim Witt in April/Mai 2018 will be supported by the second single ´Heavy Beauty`. The arrival of the first full-length album Lack Of Light has been announced for August 2018.
The four-piece got together after the classically trained Scarlet Dorn, who grew up in Siberia, had sparked the interest of Chris Harms and Benjamin Lawrenz in spring 2016 with a little video track and the experienced producers had taken them under their wing. With her warm, expressive voice and songs which consist of atmospheric, dark pop, rock and electro influences, Scarlet Dorn succeeded in captivating her audience during a tour with Lord Of The Lost in spring 2017. The current line-up of her band includes, along with Lord Of The Lost pianist Gared Dirge, of guitarist Bengt Jaeschke and drummer Henrik Petschull.
