Tonight the Enmore hosts one of the hottest live shows coming to Australia this year. It’s no secret that the popularity of Lorna Shore has increased exponentially since the addition of Will Ramos and the release of the E.P. …And I Return to Nothingness. Adding in the social media star that Will Ramos has become through being one of the most celebrated vocalists in history this truly was a hot ticket. It definetely showed as the Enmore was packed to capacity, and I mean capacity. It was pure chaos that just added unstabe energy to what was about to happen. Don’t even start me on the merch lines…
Unfortunately, I couldn’t be there for openers To The Grave, but just being on this bill means they have earned their spot and must be having an amazing time on this journey. I hope to check them out soon.
Bodysnatcher came all the way from USA and put on one hell of a show. Great songs, huge beatdowns and bass drops and brought the energy of the crowd to a fever pitch. A killer band that I hope to see more of on our shores.
When the lights went down and the intro for Lorna Shore started people lost their minds. With the first hits of Welcome Back, O’ Sleeping Dreamer the crowd erupted. If you’ve never listened to Lorna Shore’s studio output, it’s a white-hot barrage of blackened death metal with the beatdown energy to beat any deathcore band. If you have you know how ridiculously fast the drum and guitar work is, and basically everyone in the world know what Will Ramos sounds like. Seeing it live takes it to a whole other level. It’s absolutely stunning how they can pull of those songs not just perfectly, but by adding the performance aspect they come across as even more savage. Austin Archey is a blur, his indescribable speed in his kicks and hands on the drums is something you need to see to believe, bathed in shadows at the back of the stage he comes across as a demon that drives this powerful band. Adam De Micco’s shredding and atmospheric playing is fantastic as well as his hyper orage glow in the dark guitar, backed up by Andrew O’Connor and Michael Yager on rhythm and bass guitar respectively as they stalked the stage. The absolute power of the music is somehow enhanced by Will Ramos. His ability is basically a viral meme at this point, witnessing THAT ending of To The Hellfire live is mind-blowing. Ending the set with the spectacular Pain Remains triliogy Lorna Shore not only lived up to the expectation and hype but blew it out of the water. The lucky people who managed to get a ticket to this show witnessed something magical, I am desperate to hear new music from and see Lorna Shore again. What a show.
