Nemesium – Continua (Album Review)

Nemesium - Continua

Nemesium is a 5 piece extreme metal band from Melbourne, Victoria. Their new album Continua is a full-length and aside from an intermission of sorts in track 5 & 9 heavy and deep vocals throughout. It’s what extreme metal is meant to be!

Boundaryless lays down blast beats with heavy, deep vocals. The drumming is well over 240bpm in sections. Good rhythm though and a solo reminiscent of something you’d hear from Sepultura’s album Beneath the Remains.

Virch continues the albums with high-speed strumming and a good range of cords. You can hear the deep vocals almost through gritted teeth, there’s good intensity without breaks to clean vocals anywhere.

Cloud Chaser is more of a hulking headbanger that leads into the instrumental track My Final Fight and it’s good to see guitar skills like these with their own place in the album.

Continua is a great album and a textbook example of quality Australian extreme metal. Keep an eye out for Nemesium!
