Dirty Pagans are a stoner doom metal band, formed in early 2016 in Adelaide, South Australia. Inspired by the likes of Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Deep Purple, W.A.S.P, Uncle Acid and The Deadbeats.
Four of Adelaide’s biggest names in the alternative music scene join together to form Dirty Pagans. Matty Dee (former vocalist for sleaze rock- Generation Swine) fronts the band on vocals/guitar, Gregory “Fransico” Challis (Frontman of trash metal band - Alkira) on lead guitar, James Russo (former vocalist for pop rock group - iCYU) on bass/vocals and Jarrad Mark Taylor (Drummer of In:Extremis - Death Metal). Previously they’ve shared the stage with the likes of trash metallers Hidden Intent, hard rock n’ rollers The Art (NSW) and Americana Doom Fuzz outfit The Lockhearts (NSW).
Dirty Pagans conjure up the face-melting sounds from the 1970s doom scene on their recently released self-titled EP, with vocals that reach the unholiest of altitudes, hypnotizing guitar riffs, heavy basslines and explosive drumbeats. Dirty Pagans deliver a high energy performance with an electric groove so hot – Dirty Pagans are guaranteed to cause a nosebleed.
