Australian prog metal trailblazers Caligula’s Horse are back for their first headline tour of Australia in three years with the Rise Radiant tour! The band will be performing as yet unheard material from their fifth studio album, Rise Radiant, along with a whole host of classic fan favourites. This is a return to the stage not to be missed!
Singer Jim Grey comments, “After the last few years of heartbreak it has been hard to allow myself to hope for anything, let alone the chance to celebrate live music again. A leading light in contemporary progressive metal worldwide, Caligula’s Horse reached their highest chart positions yet with Rise Radiant; charting in the US, UK, Australia, Germany, Switzerland, Finland, and Scotland, highlighted with the arrival of #23 on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart. PROG Magazine (UK) labelled the record as “their best yet…a triumph of passion and performance”, while HEAVY Magazine (AUS) proclaimed “their heaviest and most ambitious album by far”.
Rise Radiant, their fifth studio album, is the band’s most focussed and potent artistic statement yet: an uncompromising exploration of the human experience dressed in vivid musical colour and virtuosic performances. Caligula’s Horse will be joined by Sydney’s rising progressive metal stars Reliqa (excluding Melbourne). Their latest single ‘The Bearer of Bad News’ – which cracked over 100k views on YouTube – is a hard-hitting, cool-minded, twisting take on the art of deception. Treading foreign ground while still remaining true to form, this track is yet another showcase of Reliqa’s ability to maintain a truthful identity as they pave their way through the alternative music industry.
Also joining the tour is Melbourne progressive metal act Acolyte, whose powerful and exploratory blend of classic and modern progressive rock has turned heads, with their debut album Entropy impressively landing #4 on the AIR Independent Album charts. Painting a vibrant musical landscape of theatrical melodies, crushing and melodic riffs, soaring leads and exemplary technical musicianship, Acolyte stands tall in the Australian progressive scene.
