The singer JOE MIZZI from Malta is no stranger to the hard rock scene in this country. With the band HIGH’N DRY he shared the stage with bands like IRON MAIDEN, MEAT LOAF and MARILLION at the end of the 80s. In addition to his work as a vocal coach, he is currently singing with the Black Sabbath Tribute Band SABBRA CADABRA. So far, JOE MIZZI has released four solo albums. Now the fifth solo album “Psychotic Tranquility” is in the starting blocks.
To shorten the waiting time until the first single, here is the title track from the last album “Angels Fall“, seen below.
JOE MIZZI comes from the Mediterranean island of Malta. In 1987 he made his way to Germany, where he joined the band HIGH’N DRY. With him the album “Hands Off My Toy” is released via Bellaphon Records. In the course of the very successful album, tours through Great Britain and France followed as well as support shows for IRON MAIDEN and various festival shows, including at the Loreley with MAGNUM and MARILLION. After the band split in 1989, Joe showed in the following decade with bands like RUSCUT, JAY or RAIN’N’STEEL that he is now one of the best rock singers in Germany. Back in Malta, JOE MIZZI released his first solo album “Radioed” there in 1998. The album offers fine mainstream hard rock and is very positively received in the press, the single “Come My Way” finds its way into the playlists of various radio stations. In 1999, JOE MIZZI ventured into the world of the “Eurovision Song Contest”. With the title “Love Will Find All The Way” he represents Malta in this competition.
Back in Germany, JOE MIZZI sets up his own studio and subsequently records his other albums “The Zero Chain”, “Age of Decay” and “Angels Fall”, which are mainly distributed digitally. Further stations in his career are participation in the prog project ETERNAL JOURNEY by musician and producer Alex Papatheodorou. The album “Threshold of Pain” will be released in 2010. JOE MIZZI, who lives in the Westerwald, is now also very popular with tribute bands. In addition to the SCORPIONS tribute band SCORFIRE or the CCR tribute band CLEARWATER REVIVAL, he feels particularly at home in the role of Ozzy Osbourne in the BLACK SABBATH tribute band SABBRA CADABRA.
