UK heavy hitters Guilt debut new single & video ‘Territorial’

English band GUILT premiere their debut music video for the devastatingly heavy number ‘Territorial‘ today. Sporadic, unabating, and catastrophic, the track follows from the success of their debut tune ‘Swerve,’ which saw support from BBC Radio 1’s Introducing Rock with Alyx Holcombe.

‘Territorial,’ produced by Connor Sweeney of Loathe, is a powerful expression of the intense emotions often experienced in the face of threat, such as aggression, apoplexy & paranoia, and being pushed to the limit of reason in a stressful situation. GUILT claims the choice of producer was a no-brainer. Connor’s work in Loathe, combined with his dark production style and roster (Creak, Pulse, Starved & Fromjoy), was an instant draw for them.

On the track, drummer Ben Hampshire states, “In the case of ‘Territorial,’ the unrelenting energy of the song serves as a healthy means of channeling aggression. We hope that listeners will find solace in the dissonance and find their own ways to use the song as a tool for coping with intense emotions.” Guitarist Forrest adds to that sentiment, saying, “Heavy music is an outlet for these feelings for us. There is something special about listening to a stupidly heavy song. It channels all negative emotions you feel in dissonant harmony with the song, and the song becomes  the theme song of your troubles.”

The video, filmed by Loki Films (Lorna Shore, Architects, Black Tongue, Thy Art Is Murder), sees the boys aggressively performing in the confines of an abandoned police station. “We chose ‘Territorial’ as our debut music video because we believe it represents the sound we are working towards the best. It’s meaty and relentless riffs with no f*cking about; we just want people to vibe with it.” says Forrest.

Featuring members from the band Drifted, as well as experience touring across the UK with notable acts such as Traitors, Rings of Saturn, A Night In Texas, Black Tongue, and Distant, as well as playing festivals such as Burn It Down, Southwest Heavyfest and Fall In The Brawl, GUILT are poised to take this momentum and run with it. “GUILT represents the evolution of Drifted,” says drummer Ben, “It’s taking our raw sound to new heights and pushing us to explore uncharted territories in terms of sound and style.” The band’s genre-defying blend of metal, electronic, and experimental music creates a sound that is both familiar and entirely new, proving that GUILT are a force to be reckoned with. GUILT has seen support from BBC Radio 1’s Alyx Holcombe, Boolin Tunes, Broadway World, Idioteq, Thoughts Words Action, and Greebo Playlists on Spotify. With a heavy and melodic sound, listeners can expect a high-energy, dynamic experience from GUILT.
