Labelled as “Sydney’s industrial demons”, Our Last Enemy is bringing us their latest EP. “As Within So Without” drops on 22 September.
5 tracks featuring the intensity we expect from the OLE.
The EP is a follow-up to their 2021 EP “As above, so below”, a portion of a quote derived from Hermes, the Greek God of travellers/thieves/commerce and the messenger of the Gods. The albums reflect different attitudes to the band, with this album focusing on their actions they express moving forward, considering they have looked deep into themselves to know who they really are.
Hard metal-core rock rail slides through the album. With the addition of CJ providing vocals on the middle track, we have a solid lineup of songs that will please the fans of the genre. The talking point for anyone will be the opening track with its western slide groove.
This provides a novel twist that they have managed to weld to some solid metal rhythms. Guitars pulse through at a manic pace, with the drums belting away in unison while the vocals rip through it all admirably.
The album cover features a similar style to what we are accustomed to. Be good to prop both of these up to complete the aesthetic.
