Adelaide alternative metal quartet Heartline announce upcoming EP, ‘Pink Lemonade‘, out Friday August 16 and share genre-bending title track.
The fresh new single is the second to be pulled from the upcoming EP after Lovers dropped in May ahead of Australian tours with Banks Arcade and Windwaker respectively. The single Pink Lemonade is ultimately about the realisation that opportunity follows hard work and dedication. “It’s about throwing all sense of entitlement to the wind and realising that it doesn’t matter what we feel we deserve, it’s down to us to work hard and make it happen,” explains vocalist Luke Taylor.
“I was so inspired after our first tour, I just wanted more and more of it and I came to the realisation that offers aren’t just going to get thrown our way – we can’t just sit and wait for things to fall in our lap. If you want something bad enough, you have to go out and make it happen.”
Production from Sam Trott (Rogue Half) with a mix and master by Nick Sjogren (Thornhill), Pink Lemonade is a digital fusion of pop and metal, weaving in and out of expansive EDM soundscapes and soaring chorus’ before unleashing a wave of grinding guitar and bass, showcasing Heartline’s musicality as a unit. The quartet’s latest two releases see the band explore new creative ground, to be heard across their forthcoming ‘Pink Lemonade’ EP.
Heartline is Luke Taylor, Nevenko Sarunic, George Carey and Michael Cooper. Since their debut in 2019, Heartline have continuously shown themselves as an exciting and promising act to watch in the Australian alternative music scene. Popular releases Delorean and the two-track drop ‘Somewhere Else [I]’ established a sound that seamlessly combined hard-hitting and complex grooves with soaring melodies and irresistible dance elements, with Delorean landing the band a coveted cover spot on Spotify’s Homegrown & Heavy playlist.
Pairing their fresh sound with a relentless, energetic and captivating live performance, the four-piece have earned a place performing alongside artists to the likes of The Word Alive (US), Holding Absence (UK), Crossfaith (JPN), Paledusk (JPN), Thornhill, Windwaker and more and secured a tour with Dance Gavin Dance (US) late 2023, winning over thousands across Australia.
With their following rapidly growing, Heartline level up with each new release. Pink Lemonade is available and streaming everywhere now. The EP ‘Pink Lemonade’ will be out Friday August 16.
