Legendary London based heavy metal band Dark Heart triumphantly returns with their long-awaited second album, Out Of The Shadows, set for release on July 21, 2024, under Battlegod Productions. This release marks a significant milestone in the band’s storied history, reigniting the flame that first captivated fans in the early 80s.
Dark Heart quickly made a name for themselves when they formed in the early 1980’s, with their debut album Shadows of the Night, released in 1984 on the Roadrunner label. Their powerful live performances garnered a strong following, but as the New Wave of British Heavy Metal era waned, the band members went their separate ways, leaving their potential unfulfilled and their fans longing for more.
Over the years, Dark Heart has developed a cult following, attracting a new generation of fans who have discovered their classic sound. Founding member Alan Clark transitioned to forming Change of Heart, where he established himself as a talented vocalist and songwriter. With four successful albums, Change of Heart became a staple in the British AOR/Rock scene.
Fast forward to 2024, and Dark Heart is back, answering the call of fans who have long awaited a new album. Alan Clark, the only original member, teamed up with guitarist Nick Catterick to create new material that, while rooted in classic metal and hard rock, brings their sound into the modern era and reflects their matured songwriting craft.
Nick Catterick, inspired by legendary guitarists like Moore, Sykes, Campbell, Norum, Lynch, and Rhoads, brings a fiery and inventive playing style that perfectly complements Clark’s vision. His remarkable guitar tone and exceptional playing ability are set to leave a lasting impression on the heavy metal scene.
Out Of The Shadows was produced and mixed by the talented Pete Newdeck, known for his work with Edens Curse, Grim Reaper, Paul Di’Anno’s Killers Midnight City and Vega. Newdeck also contributes drums and additional backing vocals, forming part of the top-class rhythm section alongside bassist Josh ‘Tabbie’ Williams (Midnight City, Life Of A Hero). The album’s executive production was handled by Dark Heart and Pete Newdeck, ensuring a high-quality listening experience.
Out Of The Shadows will be available on all major streaming platforms and for purchase through Battlegod Productions starting July 21, 2024.
