Los Angeles-born guitar-driven heavy metal icons ALCATRAZZ today unleash a performance video for the track “Target” taken from the full-length V, released last Fall via Silver Lining Music. The video includes live footage from the outfit’s 2021 UK tour and captures the raw, full-throttle-take-no-prisoners live assault of the band.
Founding member Gary Shea, AKA “the man who named ALCATRAZZ,” comments, “Footage for this clip was filmed live from our recent UK Tour in England. After a long lay-off, it was so cool to be rocking hard with vocal king Doogie White and new boy Larry Paterson killing the drums. We are looking forward to our return to the UK and the upcoming European Tour.”
Following the release of V, ALCATRAZZ will take their new record to sixteen stages across Europe, kicking off at the Golden Ages Festival in Belgium. And it’s no rest for the wicked with the band set to bring their electrifying shows to the UK in February 2023, coheadlining with the legendary Girlschool.
V was produced by Giles Lavery and Jimmy Waldo and mixed by Andy Haller (Elton John, Joe Cocker and System of a Down). Both vintage and timeless, V treads the ALCATRAZZ textured territories of old but with renewed vigor and verve. Whether it be the choral-echoes sitting inside the storming tempest which is “Nightwatch,” the staunch, speedy melodic metal of “Turn Of The Wheel,” or the thick, bluesy chug of “House Of Lies,” there is little doubt that ALCATRAZZ is going full-tilt with not one ounce of a shackle holding them back. White’s supreme vocal work on all twelves tracks serves as the catalyst for their creative synergy and his supremely positive energy brings the band closer than it has been since 1986!
“V brings us full circle from our original roots to a modern much heavier version of all things ALCATRAZZ,” confirms Shea. “I feel great and I am looking forward to our return to the UK and upcoming European Tour as we continue to work on new music; enjoy the video!”
And in case you’re wondering what V stands for? It’s ALCATRAZZ’s fifth studio album of course… but it also stands just as resolutely for Victory; the victory that sees ALCATRAZZ stronger than ever despite all the odds.
