Adelaide metalcore outfit Alda Sky are back with their second single, “Blink Of An Eye” from their forthcoming EP, ‘A World Divided‘, which will be available to stream everywhere on Friday November 25.

Debuting on triple j Unearthed TOPS yesterday, “Blink Of An Eye” reflects how fragile life can be in modern society, and how it can all be over in the ‘blink of an eye’. Produced, mixed and mastered by Chris Lalic (Windwaker), “Blink Of An Eye” follows on from previous single “Disintegration”, exploring how life’s fragility can push a person to be more critical of their own habits and choices, perhaps compelling restoration and change.

The single comes equiped with a music video directed and produced by Crow River Visuals (Windwaker, Make Them Suffer). The video is shot in the barren setting of Lochiel Salt Lake in South Australia, three hours from their Port Augusta hometown. The clip shares a futuristic feel through its otherworldly, vast imagery, capturing Alda Sky’s vision of a dystopian future. Watch here.

Alda Sky are currently featured on triple j Unearthed as a spotlight artist off the back of todays release. Unearthed’s Tommy Faith reviewed September single “Disintegration” with: “Love this! Heavy, technical and rich with explosive moments that just beg to be seen live” and GBHBL added: “Hyper and heavy, Alda Sky come screaming out of the starting blocks with one hell of an intense track.”

“Disintegration” accompanied news of the bands forthcoming EP, ‘A World Divided’. The single is a reflection on the world we live in and the view from here. Alda Sky highlight that when we aren’t learning from our past, our mistakes begin to define us. “Sometimes we need to look deeper at what’s happening in front of us before it’s too late,” explains the band.

Alda Sky set out to question the ever changing landscape of the world as we know it and how it affects citizens both individually and on a mass scale, placed over a heavy set groove-filled and melodic backbone across the EP.

Hailing from Port Augusta in South Australia, the quintet is Josh Badcock (vocals), Jake McDonald (guitar/vocals), Drew McDonald (guitar), Rhys Ritchie (bass/vocals) and Ben Maule (drums). Alda Sky formed in 2011 and built a growing fan base by playing shows across the state before releasing their debut independent EP, ‘Reflections’ in 2017 and following this up later with their single “Unfavoured” in 2019. Hibernating during the pandemic, the group have put all their force behind their upcoming EP and are ready to hit back with ‘A World Divided’.

With the world seemingly returned to familiar times, Alda Sky embark on the next chapter, showcasing latest offerings “Blink Of An Eye” and “Disintegration”, available now and streaming everywhere. ‘A World Divided’ will be out Friday November 25.
