Battery – Armed With Rage (Album Review)

Battery

WOOOOOW! This album just destroyed me. Every new wave of thrash hater should be forced to listen to that CD.

The young quintet from Denmark shows that they know how to kick in the face.

Armed With Rage is almost 40 minutes of violent, totally old-school metal. Well, the title fits PERFECTLY to this LP. It’s fast, brutal, and furious. So it’s got everything I love in metal. Cathy riffs?– got it! Dirty sound? – Yep. Angry vocals?– Not angry, FURIOUS!

Compositions are simple; Battery doesn’t try to prove, that they are some kind of technique masters. They surely know how to play, but they don’t over combine their music. Luckily, it gives them even more power. Every song runs quickly from the beginning to the end – being just a powerful shot in the face. The band doesn’t stop for even a single moment. Everything is supported by a really good rhythmic section.

Bass is loud and clear, and their drummer is a total beast.

The highlights of the CD are two songs – “Hostile By Content” and “Pyramids Of Decept“– both of them are just perfect to show Battery’s style and abilities. Oh well, actually every song is good for it 😉 Maybe except “Vermin Of Fukushima“– the only one on this album that I don’t like (and the only one that stops me from giving the highest rating). Anyway, we’ve got a piece of total, brutal thrash. Battery is probably the best thrash young band from Scandinavia right now.
