Aussie Alt/Hard Rockers Accidental President have released a brand new single titled “Ready Kid?“. The track is the first single off the band’s forthcoming album “Was It Meant To Be This Way?” due out later in the year.
Showcasing an uptempo, riff laden track with a penetrating vocal hook written with live audiences in mind, AP reflect: “Born into this manic modern world with all its demands, expectations & opportunities, it’s down to each & everyone of us to be a winner.”

Formed in 2015, Accidental President went through a long, hard road of lineup changes and life events that caused a lot of pitfalls in their early development, but used these challenges as motivation to build something meaningful with their eponymous debut album in 2020 – a socially aware brand of Alt/Hard rock mixed with Goth & Metal influences, the release of which resulted in heavy rotation on Independent radio & some great reviews.
Live playing very much informed the feel of that album – their biggest gig to date supporting Reckless Love at The Crowbar in Sydney for which they received many plaudits. Covid was used as an opportunity to stretch themselves musically by covering some diverse but favourite songs on TikTok/Youtube, and they then set about writing a meaningful follow up album that they feel listeners will really connect with on both musical & lyrical levels.
