Idle Ruin will be releasing their full-length “The Fell Tyrant” on Saturday January 21 through Bitter Loss Records. The album was produced and mixed by Brendan Auld at Black Blood Audio and mastered by Dav Byrne at Iridium Audio with album artwork by Jon Weber.

The new release is 9 tracks of blackened death thrash metal, picking up from where the band left off from the previous self-titled and “Malefactors” EPs, and containing the recent single “Delta Hexatoxin”.

Keeping up with the theme of folklore and horror tales from Idle Ruin’s hometown of Brisbane, the album title “The Fell Tyrant” refers to Brisbane’s early days as the Moreton Bay Prison Colony and of its notorious commandant Captain Logan.

Idle Ruin’s album launch will be part of a dual-release launch show, with Brisbane doom metallers Hell’s Horizon launching their debut EP. Joining both bands will be sludge-prog maestros Regular Gonzales and extreme metallers GRIEG. This show will be held at The Bearded Lady in Brisbane’s West End on Saturday, January 21, 2023. Pre-sale tickets available HERE.
