Brisbane prog-metal sensations The Stranger unveil ‘Siren’ live music video

The Stranger

Brisbane’s prog-metal Sensations The Stranger unveil their live music video for ‘Siren‘. Taken from their highly acclaimed album ‘Kaleidoscope‘, ‘Siren’ is a testament to the groups meticulous songwriting harnessing the storytelling power of music.

The Stranger’s ever-growing fanbase will be treated to an energetic live performance featuring a tantalising combination of heavy dropped tuned riffs, vibrant synths, addictively complex drum and bass grooves complete with a funk-inspired passage to get you up and dancing in no time. Vocalist Tom Frayne delivers infectious melodies effortlessly swerving between fiery belts, deep gutturals and softer passages. Powerful, immersive and dynamic, the live performance does absolute justice to the recorded sonic odyssey.

Bassist Linc Morse speaks “Late last year we were invited to play at The Progspace Online Festival and decided to properly record a full set in house with Kalen heading the production (as he did for Kaleidoscope) our good friend Adrian Goleby shooting the video and Linc editing the mass of footage we got into a 30 minute stream worthy set. The response we received was overwhelming and heartwarming and we decided very shortly after the show to release the set as a live EP in the future. And that time has finally come. Siren is one of our favourite songs to play live. While the Progfest set in its entirety was loved by the audience, there were more comments on Siren than any the rest of the set. Full of our staple genre hopping and delicious leads, it was an easy decision to have it take point on the EP. Siren tells the story of a down-on-his-luck sailor who falls foolishly in love with a mesmerising creature of the sea who seeks only to feed on his flesh.”
