Bulgarian Black/Folk metal band Цар Стангра (Tsar Stangra) have released a new single titled “Черна песен” which means “Black/Dark song” in Bulgarian. The tracks lyrics are from Bulgarian poet Dimcho Debelyanov with the band using life and death metaphors of the poem to create a concept around the single.
As shown on the single artwork, there is a dead Haiduk with roses emerging from his injured entrails, as his corpse lays on a valley of roses (national flower of Bulgaria) that symbolizes the Valley of Roses of Bulgaria. The sky is mostly white, the mountains are green and the valley is red, all forming the Bulgarian flag. Through the clouds of the sky, we can see some of the ancient slavic pagan gods watching the dead hero. The motif used for the frame is the life motif. Черна песен is a dark and epic black /folk metal dance song that has it’s small solo attack/rock star moment that may please fans of Eastern European music at large.
