Burn The Highway – Weapon Х (Album Review)

Release Date: May 14th 2020 - Independent

Burn The Highway - Weapon X
in this spring a full album from the formation of Australia Burn The Highway – “Weapon X” was released. I will be frank with you if I say that I tried hard to listen to it several times and somehow change my mind, but I failed to do this.

You know, friends, it seems to me that the guys from Burn The Highway just decided to mix different styles in order to expand the circle of fans of their group, but this did not bring them the expected success.

Burn The Highway is a young band that formed in 2021. The album “Weapon X” is claimed to be a rock record, but in my opinion it is not.

Throughout the album, it seemed to me that I plunged into my school years (returned 20 years ago) and listen to the music of friends at the rehearsal base. The album has a lot of borrowed riffs and melodies.

I had time to remember Blink 182, The Offspring, and old Inquisition albums… I would strongly advise musicians to expand their musical horizons and create something new. In the whole album, I would like to single out only the guitarist Rob Favotto, thanks to his guitar solos and tremolos, due tothe sound of the album has become not so bland.
