Welsh post-hardcore legends Casey join the Greyscale Records family and reveal their huge new single Puncture Wounds to Heaven, out now via Greyscale Records/Hassle Records.
Vocalist Tom Weaver comments: “‘Puncture Wounds to Heaven’ centres around the themes of apathy and the guilt that can arise as a result.”
“The ‘coming up for air’ sensation as you briefly snap out of a depressive episode, and survey how life has progressed around you. This is a core theme that carries throughout the new record, and musically the dichotomy between the smooth verses and the chaotic middle 8 really demonstrated that in a visceral way for us.”
The new single is the first glimpse of the band’s third album, in the words of Tom: “vocally (and musically) the most ambitious we’ve ever been, but still feels quintessentially Casey.”
The new single follows a joyous return for the quintet in 2023, including seven huge shows in the UK and Germany, and the limited release of their 7” ‘Atone/Great Grief’, out via Hassle Records.
When Casey announced they were bringing the band to a close, it felt like a premature demise. Their first two LPs – 2016 ‘Love Is Not Enough’ and 2018’s ‘Where I Go When I Am Sleeping’ – had firmly established the Welsh five-piece as one of the most exciting bands in Britain’s alternative scene.
Now, years later, the band have returned – bigger and better than ever before. Casey don’t just replicate the feelings that inspire them – they embody them.
