Devil Electric – Godless (Album Review)

Release Date: November 12th 2021 - Independent

Devil Electric - Godless

WHAT AN AMAZING RELEASE. This is a blissful bombardment of Doom, iconic riffs, and a female vocal style that borrows from some of my favorite personalities and some of my most loved albums – and then makes it a whole new thing.

Underneath the hood of this body churning Doom Riffs is a complex machine of tasty licks and melodies that flirt with some staples from some of the other hard-hitting punk and metal genres that it uses to lightly salt the songwriting to keep you on your feet.

I really love this vocalist! She delivers the timbre that the riffs bring and then some. It’s got this great cross of delivering the monstrous impact of the male-fronted greats like Lemmy and Ozzy but in this tone and rhythm that’s more akin to female-fronted indie rock/punk bands like Joan Jett, The Yeah Yeah Yeah’s or even Debbie Harry at times.

If that sounds like something that’s hard to believe you’ll have to have a listen to “All my friends move like the night” or any of the other bangers and come to your own conclusion.

I freakin’ love this Record! A great new sound with its roots in 40 years of headbanging Doom riffs!

If you like:  Subscribers to 70’s metal and hard rock are going to find something to love about this album. Lovers of groups like Mastodon and Kyuss are going to fit right in too. If you’re not into the previously listed bands and genres I strongly believe this record has enough personality to find its way into your collection or be your gateway drug to a legacy of fuzzy Guitar, epic Drums, and Bass tones that weigh a million tonnes.

Haters be like: If you hate this you are trying way toooooooo hard bro… Sorry
