Mean What You Say was one of the first songs that Jim, Tubbo and Dave jammed on when they started Distorta back in 2015. It has gone through a lot of changes in both guitar and vocal sound, but this latest version is the one we are most proud of.
It is the only song Distorta have released as a pure single and is the first of three singles they will be releasing in the near future that won’t feature on an album or ep. This is due to the sound of these songs not being consistent with the sound of the new material they have recorded for the full album. To be released later in 2025.
“This was recorded by us at our home studio and is an extremely raw take as we wanted it to sound the same playing it live. It had been sitting in the catalogue of unreleased songs for a while and we thought lets just re- re-record it and get it out there.
” says the band
“In regard to our search for a second guitarist to replace Dom, we have found our man but he wont be joining us officially for about a month. He is a session metal guitarist and has recorded an album with former Fear Factory drummer John Sanke. We can’t wait until he gets going. This is also part of the reason we are doing singles that are already written, so we can do the new stuff with our new guitarist.” adds the band
