Eternal Judgement – Fatal Virus (EP Review)

Eternal Judgement - Fatal Virus

Here we’ve got another outstanding thrash release: Fatal Virus is a debut EP of Canadian thrashers Eternal Judgment, released in 2012. And if they started with such power, I wonder what would be next!

But let’s start from the beginning. We’ve got five compositions and musically they’re located somewhere between heavy and thrash metal (but closer to the second genre πŸ˜‰ ).

Maybe they’re not that fast and wild as Violator, not technical like Vektor but there aren’t a lot of bands with such feeling in their music. Some riffs from this release are playing in my head already for two or three days (e.g. the War Planet riff). Let’s add to this good solo, nice guitar sound, drummer with a lot of grooves and loud, clear bass – ta–dam, we’ve got a killer debut album!

What’s also surprising are the vocals. I swear Eternal Judgement singer must be the lost brother of Municipal Waste’s Tony Foresta. He sounds almost the same, a Tony on Fatal Feast album.

To conclude Good, heavy/thrash EP! A big plus for compositions and sound! So why did I give 4 roos, not 5? Two reasons: There should be some faster parts on that album – it’s thrash metal, right? And secondly, ok, I know it’s an EP, but I think that Eternal Judgement should have started with an LP, or at least recorded a few more songs. After finishing Fatal Virus I still think, that I need a little more songs from them.
