Funeral Winds - 333

Active since 1991, Funeral Winds has released their eighth album called “333”, which refers to the Dweller in the Abyss, the Demon of Dispersion, also known as Choronzon. Before anyone can guess what strange noise they are listening to, this band blasts a cold and raw Black Metal with their first track ’Sovereign of Shadows’. Drum cymbals resonate viciously in ’Eternal Nightmare’. Original values and traditions of Black Metal are respected like decades ago. ’Cast the Gauntlet of Doom’ might have slowed down the pace, but this one is still cold as it should be. Harsh it becomes when they execute ’Ancient Wrath Unleashed’. The only rule is to respect Black Metal values. The cool starting riff has ’The Damned Ones Shall Rise’ that quickly evolves into an insane Black Metal anthem. A rapid-fire is shot in ’Forever Cursed and Bound’. It has passages that can slow down things, but still, it never loses intensity. ’Birthed By Pure Malevolence’ does not take anything for granted. It is a lawless track very similar to the previous one when things slow down. ’Conjuration of the Blind One’ is the last one and has an intro that will chill the bones. Coldness, harshness and rawness are at its peak.

‘This album is dedicated to He, whose name is three hundred and thirty-three, and that thrice one’, clarifies Funeral Winds. Some Black Metal fans can misunderstand ’333’ as the half of the famous ’666’. Maybe they may think is a joke, but this album is a serious threat to humanity.
