Australian metalcore act Graves rise from the ashes with their two-track release ‘Graves‘, out everywhere today via Greyscale Records. Featuring new singles, Reaper’s Pull featuring Bobak Rafiee of Justice For The Damned and Tooth & Nail, these fresh new tunes see the band return after an eight year hiatus and will see their live debut on the Graves reunion tour this May/June. Tickets on sale now.
Reawakening with a newfound passion for their craft, Graves revisit the project that saw them tour the nation with a long list of heavyweight metal acts and secure an ARIA chart position for their debut album ‘Monster‘ in 2016. Joining forces with Clayton Segelov (mixed, mastered, produced and engineered) and Angie Watson (engineered) from the Brain Studios, Graves make their comeback with not one, but two crushing new offerings.
Intertwining themes of destructive independence and self-effacing behaviour, Reaper’s Pull and Tooth & Nail explore the inability to ask for help, pushing against and being unable to accept help when it’s offered and the desire to fight inner demons alone. Stream here.
The two-track releases just in time to make an appearance on Graves reunion tour this May and June, with special guests Starve and Sedative, with the recent addition of local openers in each city. The tour sees Graves jump back into the live circuit visiting The Zoo in Brisbane, Hamilton Hotel in Newcastle, Crowbar in Sydney, Lion Arts Factory in Adelaide, Stay Gold in Melbourne, La La Las in Wollongong and Amplifier Bar in Perth. Tickets available now and moving fast.
Calling it a day back in 2018, Graves made an impression early on with their pummelling brand of heavy. They spent many years relentlessly touring Australia off the back of their 2013 EP ‘Pestilence‘ and the 2016’s ‘Monster’, supporting tours and shows with the likes of Suicide Silence (US), The Acacia Strain (US), Kublai Khan (US), Chelsea Grin (US), Parkway Drive, Confession, Thy Art Is Murder, Northlane and Void of Vision to name a few. Their 2024 tour is set to incite chaos across Australia, welcoming classic singles 506, Ratface and Extinction to the set list as well as some new material that proves that Graves are back, and they’re here to stay.
