Listening to Disciples of Smut is like jumping in a pool full of cum smeared chainsaws with a big smile on your face. It’s a celebration of the underground, typical gore grind riffs combined with well-known old school sounds of all heroes, we have listened to back in the days. The album is a really fat production but and it seems to be that the band is standing in a cave worshipping old death metal legends but sticking to their own style at the same time.
GUT was founded in 1991 and they created a milestone with their first long-player Odour of torture in 1995 …. Porn Grind was born. The second album was The Cumback 2006 with a mixture of Grindcore elements, hip hop, punk, and electro sounds. Fourteen years later the band succeeded with Disciples of Smut a spot landing in a matter of underground music evolution. Goregrind was never been that innovative before.
Listening to the tracks is a dark journey, sticky and thick. Apart from the long-known samples, you are wandering between doomy, black, and death metal elements combined with the typical GUT grinding riffs from slow, deep, groovy, and heavy to banging blast beats. The vocals are constantly changing from dark grind gurgling to old-school death metal growls and black metal screams.
