Iranian metalcore act One Missing Link returns with the new single “Second Kin” featuring female Iranian vocalist Robobun.

The song opens with a brief yet peculiar synth intro that one could easily mistake for a guitar line and yet doesn’t waste time to suddenly transition into One Missing Link’s spicey metalcore riffs. “Second Kin” follows One Missing Link’s established metalcore sound until the chorus. That’s when listeners will be surprised by what Robobun has to add to the bigger picture. Her clean yet powerful vocals soar over One Missing Link’s familiar metalcore choruses and add the duality that the song’s lyrics convey.

Lyrically “Second Kin” follows One Missing Link’s concept of a specter inside the hearts of all humans, born from the darkness that they witnessed. In “Second Kin” specifically, we see the conversation between the specter representing the dark side, sung by One Missing Link’s vocalist Dr. Nikan Nasim, and the conscience representing the light side sung by Robobun. With the help of producer Alireza Sina of Sin Audio Productions and mastering engineer Filip Klobukowski of JFK Audio, One Missing Link has meticulously crafted and combined the music and the lyrics to achieve the concept of duality within mankind.
