Established as one of metals most exciting up and coming acts, Japan-based metalcore outfit Prompts return with their second blistering single of the year, Edgerunner, out now via Greyscale Records.
A band that seeks to bend the boundaries of their genre, Prompts once again meld elements of nü-metal, mathcore, djent, deathcore with soaring clean sections on Edgerunner. The new single is about losing faith in ourselves when striving to achieve our goals, contrasted with the idea that sometimes we have to sacrifice parts of ourselves to reach our destination. The question is asked: can we be saved from ourselves?
Armed with their latest release, Prompts will make their way to Australia in October to support Diamond Construct across the nation visiting Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Wollongong, Sydney, Newcastle and Brisbane – tickets on sale now via Destroy All Lines.
Edgerunner is Prompts second release of the year, following February’s Sun Eater, which came as their first release under the wings of Greyscale Records. Sun Eater made waves with its unique mix of dark and light moments and placed as one of Metal Hammer’s Tracks Of The Week on release and was described as “sonic bedlam”.
Featuring members from both Japan and South Korea, the amalgamation of contrasting backgrounds and influences can be heard throughout the Prompts catalogue. Since their formation in 2012, Prompts have built strong foundations in Japan, touring with artists to the likes of Kublai Khan, Crystal Lake, The Plot In You, Crossfaith and Stray From The Path as well as playing South East Asia’s longest running music festival Pulp Summer Slam earlier this year with Parkway Drive, The Story So Far, La Dispute and more. Prompts kicked off 2024 with a debut Australian tour with The Gloom In The Corner and HEAVENSGATE, and can’t wait to be returning this October.
Edgerunner is available everywhere now via Greyscale Records.
