Kissing Kaos are a rock band from the USA founded by former Asphalt Valentine singer Joe Flynt, releasing the bands debut album ‘To Your Limit’ in 2026.
Recruiting former bandmate, drummer Brian Jung, the bands line-up is completed by guitarist Jon Lansburg and Kickin Valentina bass player Chris Taylor, Kissing Kaos exploring every inch of rock territory to deliver “polished heavy melodic hard rock” across thirty four minutes and nine songs – ‘Hey Sugar’ instantly into its stride to knock every listener into next fucking week! The sheer oomph pouring outta the album opener belies the bands simple “rock” tag – this is hard rock for sure, the American rockers delivering an opening salvo that covers all aspects of rock territory from melodic rock to hard rock to AOR and a little stadium rock too! A hard hitting, and quite frankly breath taking opening barrage turns even harder hitting courtesy of the thundering ‘Tear It Down’, Kissing Kaos channelling an early Def Leppard sound and feel with this one, the legendary British rockers a part of the iconic NWOBHM evolution during the eighties when the band were tagged as a “metal” band! And I’m not just saying this because Kissing Kaos have delivered a song with the same title as a Def Leppard one (‘Tear It Down’ appearin
A rock hard metal edge that takes a back seat as ‘Heartache And Scars’ enters the fray with a distinctly nineties era hard rock feel, the bands AOR roots rising to the surface as an immensely sing a long-able chorus pours forth – a chorus that’s surely gonna be sung, screamed and shouted by every listener, fan, follower and concert goer! This is infectious hard rock at its finest as ‘Can’t Fake Me’ returns the bands metal edge – and this time it’s via the iconic “gallop” so synonymous with traditional heavy metal and the pioneering, genre defining metal band Iron Maiden! Kissing Kaos are in full flight to rock the head of everyone everywhere fairly vigorously, the energy pouring outta the American four-piece band at nose bleeding heights, the title song ‘To Your Limit’ rocking the rafters loose! The pace, power and pizzazz breaking through the album so far has been all conquering, attracting metallers and rockers into the world of Kissing Kaos, ‘Breakthrough’ hitting the brakes rather sharply as the band descend into soulful mellowness! For all of the first twenty four seconds or so, the booming nature of power balladry rising high in the air as the band shudder and shake the ground! And to be honest, methinks ‘Breakthrough’ is a little too heavy rocking to be a full blown power ballad, I just don’t feel the urge to raise a lighter high in the air or sway from side to side!
What an album ‘To Your Limit’ has been since it began, one of the hardest rocking rock albums I’ve heard all year, the energy level rising off the fucking charts as ‘The Joker’ gallops into view with the bands incredible metal edge sharper than ever! And the head bang ability here too is just awesome, Kissing Kaos catering for a very wide array of listeners with a blistering debut offering! An offering with two more songs still to come, Kissing Kaos keep the hammer well and truly down with ‘Chaos Inside’, the sound of melodic hard rock stronger than ever as the band continue their mesmerising, magical mix of rock and metal! The past thirty minutes have flown by in the blink of eye, the rock on show simply sensational as the albums final hurrah ‘Yesterday’s Kids’ widens the bands sound to new widths! The much harder edge here is gonna slam listeners to the floor and through to the fucking basement, Kissing Kaos rounding off a jaw dropping album is superb style!
Overall, a sensational array of hard rock with a sharp metal edge, Kissing Kaos deliver an infectious and highly attractive debut album.
