Lord Of The Lost - PVS NOIR Vol.1

Lord Of The Lost unveil new 33-track album trilogy, kicking off with their first album as a six-piece, OPVS NOIR Vol.1!

Kicking off the album is Bazaar Bizarre, wasting no time at all, they dive straight into intense double kick drums before morphing into 80s synth pop style vocals that lead the cinematic energy of the track. Following on is My Sancturary, slightly more mellow than the previous track, it has a steady headbanging beat with four-to-the-floor drums and almost spoken vocals during the verses, a slight melodic edge peeking through during the chorus. Track three is the first collaboration, featuring Within Temptation. The contrast of the vocals meshes really well in the choruses to make a powerful anthem track; the intensity of the guitars in the latter half adds the heavier twist signature to both bands.

I Will Die In It has high and lows, the simplicity of the drums in the verses with the gradually building intensity of the choruses emphasises the melancholic lyrics. Moonstruck creates more of a gothic energy with the operatic style underlying vocals and the endless piano melody that runs throughout the track, its dramatic and cinematic from start to finish. Track 6 feels heavily influenced by Rammstein, featuring Whiplasher Bernadotte, it’s full of raw energy, with deep heavy bass, techno elements and relentless drums.

Tina Guo provides a haunting cello melody to Ghosts while the deep guttural vocals keep that raw edge we see in the last track. Lords Of Fyre features folk metallers Feuerschwanz, with intense double kick drums, squealing solos and catchy lyrics. It’s sure to get you singing along. The Things We Do For Love starts off in typical ballad fashion before transforming into a beast of a track. It’s strong and emotional, reflecting the passion in the lyrics.

Track 10 features a deep thrumming bassline and energetic drum lines that carry the energy of the track. The cinematic choruses compliment the heavy distorted guitar riffs. Closing out the album is Dreams Are Never Alone, it has a darker energy about it, it invokes a sense of despair in the listener with the abrupt making it one of the strongest tracks on the album.

Overall, Lord Of The Lost offer a solid album showcasing a variety of talents that are sure to delight listeners.
