Human Butchery – Psychopath Abduction (Album Review)

Human Butchery is a bunch of crazy-assed Mexicans who have created a beast of a death metal album.

My first impression was one of sheer apprehension, I wasn’t sure what was getting myself into. The intro plays out like a movie with some dude with a chainsaw, a woman screaming and the subsequent maniacal laugh, for those who like horror metal…

keep on listening.

This is a highly technical piece of work. These dudes can play! I really like that every instrument can be heard and has its own place even down to the bass guitar. Every pluck of the strings can be distinguished. I’m super impressed with the recording of this album.

The first song Slaughter has a jazz fusion death metal thing going on then settles into a heavy grinding traditional death metal with pounding double kicks of the drums and for those who love the guttural vocal with pig squeals, you’re in for a treat.

The lyrical subjects are firmly placed in the horror/gore realm with song titles such as Necrophilia and Necro-Cannibalism. You quickly get the idea.

My favourite song on this album is 100 Nails in Your Face, such a delightful image… but for me, this one has all the elements of Death Metal. Slow grinding guitars going into blasting.

Everyone is on task here to crush the ears of the listener. To me, this sounds like they have channelled the Pierced from Within era from Suffocation.

For those who like Cannibal Corpse and Cattle Decapitation, this is your next album to listen to. Death metal doesn’t come much more impressive than this album.
