Warkings – Reborn (Album Review)

Warkings - Reborn

Warkings have released their debut album Reborn and it’s absolutely a must-listen for power/battle metal fans across the globe. With power metal I find all too often the vocals can be a bit too operatic and overpowering, this is not the case on Reborn. The amazing vocal abilities of Tribune mixed with an array of crunchy rhythm sections, galloping double kicks and melody-driven leads provide the perfect backdrop to envision battles with actual war kings.

Reborn is a battle driven masterpiece with a few standout tracks for myself. Gladiator got my blood pumping strong as did the very Dreamevil sounding Hephaistos. My favourite song would have to be the epic track Sparta featuring the Butcher from Debauchery, bringing a slightly different vocal technique to the track. If you don’t throw a fist in the air while screaming SPARTA at some point during this song then I believe something may be wrong with you.

Do yourself a favour and give Warkings Reborn a listen, I promise you won’t regret it. Reborn will be getting regular playtime in my humble abode and in battle if ever the day arises. I look forward to seeing Warkings live to be in the battle pits but for now, this amazing debut will suffice.
