Resin Tomb - Cerebral Purgatory

Resin Tomb needed 5 years to develop and polish their explosive sounds to release their debut album. This is “Cerebral Purgatory” from The Sludge/Death Metal based in Brisbane, Australia.

After a few seconds of hearing the first track, “Dysphoria”, you will know that this will be an abrasive experience until the end.

“Flesh Brick” is just pure savage blackened material. This is a state of the Brisbane guys that they are not fluffy or sweet.

“Scalded” will drive you insane if you are looking for something wild and out of control.

The title track, “Cerebral Purgatory”, has got this crunchy riff that progresses into a brutal madness. The ending is a little lazy, but the slowdown makes sense to a song that has to stop somehow.

“Human Confetti” revolves around crazy breakdowns and has a slaughterhouse vibe. It is interesting how they structure and elaborate their songs, as the rhythm and intensity change all of a sudden.

A colossal track is “Purge Fluid”. Has an elegant atmosphere, and at the same time is a heavyweight ready to smash skulls.

“Concrete Crypt” unleashes hell with that powerful guttural voice. It starts with a sinister and very short intro that is going to get your attention immediately.

“Putrescence” is the last song of this full-length. Prepares the audience to a harsh ride they never forget and be printed in their mental sound collection.

With “Cerebral Purgatory” the Australians have shown their phenomenal potential and impressive execution of Sludge/Death Metal. Hope that they get as much as creative and motivated next time.
