In Mumbai, India, Sabotage, a dynamic force in the global metal scene, has returned with their highly anticipated album, Pishach, released worldwide on January 13th, 2024. Drawing inspiration from iconic bands like Toxic Holocaust, Annihilator, and Metallica, Sabotage’s latest offering is a relentless onslaught of pure thrash energy.
Pishach, deriving its name from the Sanskrit word meaning ‘evil,’ is an eight-track journey into the darker realms of human imagination. Each track explores a different theme, ranging from Viking legend Ragnar Lothbrok to dystopian worlds, from revenge to betrayal. The album even features a Sabotage anthem track, showcasing the band’s signature style and unyielding spirit.
Breaking away from convention, Sabotage experimented with a native Indian instrument called the Chenda, infusing their sound with a unique percussive element from the land of Kerala. This bold experimentation adds a fresh dimension to their already captivating sound.
A highlight of the album is the track “Love Undead”, accompanied by a distinctive music video that delves into the twisted tale of a necrophiliac woman. This visual creation complements the song’s dark narrative, creating an immersive experience for listeners.
