On Tuesday American Death Metal giants Six Feet Under released the second track ‘Zodiac’ from forthcoming album ‘Nightmares of the Decomposed’. Zodiac has fallen foul in its initial few days. After just three days slightly under 2k people had disliked the tune on YouTube, while a meagre 1100 had liked it. Comments are turned off

The song is ok, it builds nicely and shows the band are trying something different. Six Feet Under recently added guitarist Jack Owen (formally Cannibal Corpse & Deicide) to the existing line up consisting of vocals – Chris Barnes (founding member), bass – Jeff Hughell, drums – Marco Pitruzzella and guitars – Ray Suhy.
Six Feet Under have been making consistently good death metal albums since the mid 1990’s. However, the initial reception of their latest track may be a sign of things to come, though I doubt this. Zodiac is the second single released within a few weeks, the first was ‘Amputator’ which captures the band’s sound and dynamic nicely.
