Chronolyth – Sovereign (Album Review)

Chronolyth - Sovereign

Chronolyth is a 5 piece band from sunny Brisbane Qld and they sure can pack a huge punch in the face with their debut album Sovereign, it’s Hard it’s Heavy and it will surely rip you apart.

These boys are very tight instrumentally, drumming especially (Check Track 6 – Age of Fear), guitars are quick and heavy and also shows a lot of diversity within some songs and also shows some excellent solo work (Track 3 – Condemned in the Throes of Remorse). Vocals – if you enjoy high levels of screaming this one is for you.

Track 10 – Silent eyes certainly shows just how far their vocalist will go for the correct scream. The production is also of high quality in this album.

Some people may think it’s repetitive but hopefully, people can look past it as it’s a very solid album for a debut and these boys can only get better.

If you’re a fan of Lamb of God, Bleeding Through, Killswitch Engage, or Devildriver you should definitely give these guys a chance as they will take you on a heavy journey as it never slows down long enough for you to rest.
