Ultra-clean layered vocals from Erin Eddy reveal the torment of fitting into society and the pressure that goes with it. the music moves between heavy and melodic without sacrificing its dynamics.

Alt metal is a genre that Spacegoat has been associated with, but I don’t know what that is. All I know is that the band reflect the world around them and create music that is dynamic and unafraid to explore different textures, as on the excellent Erased, with its vibrant bassline and midsection riff.

Nothing is more of the same that then delves into a section of introspection and waves of guitar that then builds to a satisfying crescendo.

Excellently constructed if a little familiar in places, Spacegoat is unafraid to explore the darkness without being self-indulgent. The guitars of Leon Russell and Mighty McGrath deserve special mention in their musicianship and helping the chorus’ soar and delve into some mighty crunch as heard on Purge and Dirty Fighter

Anamnesis is their epic closer combining all their music elements in their meaning of recollection. Melodic, Heavy, and dynamic, Catharsis is exactly that, unafraid to mix the hard with the gentle.

Spacegoat is making leaps and bounds in their musical evolution and the conviction of their intent.
