Originating from Darwin, Post hardcore band Tapestry have been turning heads since their move to Melbourne. With the announcement of their Australian tour, they’ll be releasing a brand new track after ending the Ghost Of Me cycle on the 17th of April. Along with the track they’ll be bringing a fresh new sound that fans will be able to enjoy. UK Heavyweight Holding Absence will be joining the band on the road as they hit various cities around Australia.
2019 was a big year for Tapestry, it found them playing festivals like BASSINTHEGRASS, Yours & Owls & also touring with acts such as Thornhill, The Beautiful Monument, Vacant Home & more. Although 2019 was a big step up for the band in touring circuit, 2020 is looking to be their busiest as they started the year performing at UNIFIED Music Groups yearly heavy festival in Gippsland called UNIFY Gathering. The festival attracted 10,000 punters from around the world and the band were able to perform with the likes of The Ghost Inside, Architects. Northlane & more.
‘Never Felt The Same’ is about “Someone breaking you to the point of not knowing if you’ll ever recover” vocalist Tom says.
2020 looks to be the biggest year yet for Holding Absence, with promises of new music and a main support slot for Southampton’s goth punk phenomenon Creeper secured just ten days into the year.
A strong claim, considering that 2019 saw the release of the band’s debut album to critical acclaim,as well as the Cardiff based quartet excelling in the live environment with appearances at 2000 Trees, Burn It Down and mainland Europe’s touring Impericon Festival. They also spent plenty of time on the road with both the band’s first UK headline tour and numerous big-name support slots performing with the likes of Sleeping With Sirens, Underoath, Being As An Ocean and Funeral For A Friend filling out their 2019. December saw Holding Absence play their biggest headline show to date as they took on London’s famed Scala for an incredibly special show that saw them playing their entire discography, front to back, in chronological order. It rounded out what has proved to be the best year yet for one of UK rock’s brightest hopes.
