Ukrainian/Polish atmospheric black metal outfit, Three Eyes Of The Void, have recently revealed their newest song, Descent, ahead of the release of their L.P The Atheist, which will be available October 27.
Descent takes the listener on a journey of melancholic and brooding melody with the undertones of darkness that is synonymous with the black metal genre.
The song is but one fragment of a deeper musical assemblage, with The Atheist delving into the theme of humanity’s relationship to God and mortality. The lyrical content centres on the human conflict between belief in God and enlightenment and rejecting the concept of a conscious creator.
In relation to the lyrical themes, the band says, “The Atheist embarks on a journey to prove that coming to terms with one’s weaknesses may be the only way out for those seeking answers to the question ‘who am I and why am I?’”
Musically, Three Eyes Of The Void infuse atmospheric black metal with progressive metal, laced with the overwhelming heaviness and darkness of post metal. This amalgamates to fuel the overall vision of bitter hopelessness and despair of the human existence that is explored on The Atheist.
