Hard-line extreme metal squad To The Grave are one of Australia’s most uncompromising bands. Fresh from a sold out tour of Europe and off the back off their recently released second album, Director’s Cuts the guys are teaming up with Starve and Mélancolia to destroy Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane from late July.
Director’s Cuts explores the band’s unwavering commitment to animal rights and environmental responsibility.
Since the release of their 2019 debut album Global Warning, the caustic five piece have garnered international success, with 2021’s follow-up Epilogue, a re-issue of Global Warning with bonus tracks, solidifying their position as “one of the country’s heaviest exports.” (Revolver). Lyrically exposing societal and environmental hell on earth whilst musically pushing the boundaries of accessible extremity via barbed hooks, thick with atmosphere and drenched in groove.
To The Grave have steadily built an audience in the underground, accumulating more than 11 million Spotify streams, racking up over 5.4 million YouTube views, all whilst decimating live audiences everywhere they play.
Adding to the attack are Melbourne’s Starve. Raw and unrelenting, their brutal metal core grabs you by the throat and refuses to let go. Their devastating live shows have quickly solidified the bands place as one of the most promising young acts on the scene and they are moving up fast. The ferocity highlighted on their second EP, Nausea, is a tour-de-force of heavy metal aggression.
Trapped in the claws of despair like messengers of darkness, Mélancolia are a tormented entity. Melodic blackened deathhore that melds elements of industrial goth and nü-metal with its pummeling foundations, resulting in what can only be described as sonic horror. Coupled with their Cradle Of Filth inspired visuals, it’s the stuff of nightmares. Australia has never produced an act like this.
With a line up of this calibre, there will be no compromises, no excuses and no quarter. Get in or get out of the way.
