Weightless released new Single/Video Perspective

Weightless

Sydney-based Metalcore act, Weightless return with a scorcher of a heavy track in the form of their latest single, Perspectives. Lyrically, the band delves deep into the emotional complexities of Bipolar disorder, painting a vivid musical picture of the constant struggle between highs and lows the condition can bring. Simultaneously, Perspectives acts as a critique of society, that is often quick to judge and label, illustrated perfectly by the poignant lyric, “How could a rose ever bloom when you just poison the roots”

Perspectives further highlights the versatility of the quintet, showcasing the heavier side of their extensive writing arsenal, with vocalist Luke Benicky coming to the front of the mix to deliver a scathing and powerful vocal performance, perfectly highlighted by the driving mix of powerful drums, distorted guitars and complimentary synths that take you into their world.

The accompanying music video, directed by Chris Zagas of Neck Up Collective (known for his work with bands like The Butterfly Effect, Invent, Animate, Dregg and Heists) transports viewers to ‘The Cybersphere’, a futuristic cyberpunk world, where a cloaked character is pursued by other versions of themself.  The visually stunning backdrop acts as a metaphor, enhancing the song’s emotional narrative.
