SnakeyeS – Welcome To The Snake Pit (EP Review)

SnakeyeS - Welcome To The Snake Pit

This EP is very easy to pick where the influences are drawn from. Catchy riffs, solid beats, shimmering guitar solos in between riffs, and soaring vocals. Its essence is so familiar yet takes you in and gives you the feeling that you’re a part of some animated 80’s montage. Just imagine it.. You’re a character with magnificent superpowers and you’re kicking all kinds of arse and taking names, and the songs from Snake Eyes EP are your theme music!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!

Well… That’s how I felt… But, I’m very strange…

For me this band sounds great, this EP is very well recorded and you can tell that this is their art. Even though it’s not something I’d usually listen to, I can see why so many people love this genre of metal. For me to try to locate its genre, it’s somewhere between new wave British heavy metal and modern thrash. The drums in these four tracks have been given that 80’s stadium rock feel, very open yet tight at the same time. The vocalist is out of this world insane with his falsetto highs and his grizzly death barks. The guitars are impeccable throughout this EP and keep your fists flailing high.

Seeing this band live, I think would be an experience on its own. I think if they sound as good as they sound recorded, this band would be dropping panties, left, right, and center.

You really get that feeling that these guys would be comfortable supporting big acts and sitting right alongside them performance-wise. Without knowing anything about Snake Eyes or who exists in the band, I’d say they have a very promising future delivering the art they create.

If you are a fan of Iron Maiden or any New wave British Metal bands, you’ll appreciate Snake Eyes.

Stand out track for me from this EP was ‘Shadow Warriors’… Need I say more?
