Wildheart share final single “The Darkest Path”

Wildheart

Brisbane/Meanjin metalcore outfit Wildheart share final single, The Darkest Path from upcoming album Searching For Life Beyond Tragedy‘, which will be available everywhere Friday November 15.

The Darkest Path personifies the dark path that the quartet sees the world travelling on. The lyrical content exposes feelings of sadness and grief, which turn into anger, at the inaction on the very things threatening the planet: war, climate change, corporate greed, discrimination and global catastrophes. The track offers a counterpoint, that despite all the terrible things happening in the world, Wildheart encourage hope for a better future. Wildheart explain, “we are just a local heavy band, but if we can convince one person to engage with politics and make choices towards a better future for everyone, then it will have been worth it.

This latest release accompanies the news that guitarist Axel Best has returned to his former role of vocalist, once again leading the outfit in their pursuit of advocacy, awareness and empowerment. Wildheart’s sophomore album, ‘Searching For Life Beyond Tragedy’  is the culmination of this, and is home to eight poignant and scorchingly heavy new tracks, including the previously released Withered and Evergreen. Carrying the torch forward, the album delves into themes varying from political frustration, mental health awareness and social injustices.

Through their music and advocacy over the years, the band has earned a long list of accolades; Wildheart’s debut album ‘Global Crisis’ – named 2022 Gold Coast Music Award’s Release of the Year – debuted #10 on Australian Independent Record Labels Associations charts. They have been nominated as finalists at Gold Coast Music Awards, Queensland Music Awards, and for the Environmental Music Prize. Their music has received editorial playlisting on Apple Music and Spotify as well as seeing adds to triple j Unearthed rotation and airtime on Channel 7 AFLRage4ZZZ and multiple triple j radio programs.

Wildheart passionately stand for open conversation and action surrounding mental health, social injustice, and discrimination. The quintet have jumped from strength to strength, earning them their shot at Australian music festivals including UNIFY Gathering, BIGSOUND, Thrashville, Bleach, and Fireball Festival, as well as playing sold out shows across a multitude of Queensland venues and performing alongside heavyweight acts; Stick To Your Guns (USA), Holding Absence (UK), Northlane, Alpha Wolf and more.

The Darkest Path is available and streaming everywhere now. ‘Searching For Life Beyond Tragedy’ will be out Friday November 15, and is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.
