Zeolite – Proselytism (Album Review)

Zeolite - Proselytism

Very brutal deathcore would be the perfect definition to Zeolite’s “Proselytism”.

It’s a record filled with punches and efficiency, smacking your face one breakdown at a time.

The deep and low growls are doing a perfect job in masking the poor creativity riff-wise, but then again, deathcore isn’t about the riffs, it’s about the efficiency, and that purpose is served very well.

The atmospheres created to accompany that huge amount of destruction are very sinister and haunting, as you get your face melted twice: with fear and then with aggression.

It is necessary to mention the huge talent of both the vocalist and the drummer, who is carrying this release on their shoulders, displaying unreal amounts of technical mastery. The drummer throws in crazy grooves and beats his drums at a speed that’s almost inhumane, the breakdowns are creative in the sense that they do not use the usual deathcore patterns.

The production accentuates the most important instruments and puts an emphasis on the bass frequencies as the lows are very important to this genre’s standards, making this an album with the capacity to move forwards onto deathcore’s higher ranks.
