That the Sons Of Sounds are an outstanding live band is well known. They will certainly prove this again on the upcoming tour with NAZARETH. Reason enough to show this in the latest video “My Name”.
But the song says much more, as singer Roman Beselt explains:
“In “My Name” I deal with the question of how well do you really know yourself or think you know others? Often very superficially.
But how quickly one tends to form the people so right as they fit best in the stuff. We all know sayings like “stay the way you are”, “Thats my boy!” etc. are certainly not meant badly and yet they somehow lock us into something static.
But aren’t we something constantly changing?
“My Name” breaks down the question with an ironic undertone along the lines of how would you like me to be? Do I fit so well into your ideal image? Nicely in line, politically correct, faithful to the Bible and tax-free? or sex-addicted but vegan? Do you trust yourself? Your family or rather a stranger on TV, who reads scripted news to you?
It’s not easy, but worth a try to really put yourself in everyone’s shoes – even your biggest enemy. Wouldn’t you do the same? Maybe it is a spirit who plays all these roles and has lived all these lives before! Satan, Jesus, Superstar! at the end of the day – A simple boy who plays guitar.
Therefore know your place! and know your name.”
