Hopelezz – Black Souls Arrive (Album Review)

Hopelezz

The album starts off with a sad, melancholic opener that instantaneously erupts into the riffs of the first track Made of Stainless Steel, but the four-piece German outfit fails to really inspire any originality.

Don’t get me wrong they can definitely rock out but I can’t really hear anything I haven’t heard before.

Sounding a little like In Flames in sections, the title track Black Souls Arrives unquestionably reflects the similarities.

Hopelezz has produced 12 tracks on this album which is a mighty effort, but I wasn’t really taken with any of them to be brutally honest. There is a definite market out for the band for those who are into melodic death metal, but I think Hopelezz really needs to extend themselves more if they want to make a mark in the scene especially against the heavyweights of the scene.
