Bloody Sadism (Iran)

Metal-Roos: Welcome to Metal-Roos, Pooyan Ahmadi. It’s an honour to have you here.

Thank you so much. It is my pleasure.

MR: Tell us a little about your solo project Bloody Sadism.

Bloody Sadism is a one-man-band founded by me in 2014 in Iran.

MR: Your debut album “Eloquent Atrocity” received great reviews upon last year’s release. How do you feel about that reception?

It is so good that people like it and the reviews have been great until now. It is an honour for me and Iran’s metal music to be heard. I feel great and it makes me work better for the next albums and try to do my best.

MR: Being a one-man band, how was the process recording the debut album?

Hm… it was a kind of weird. You know, I’ve collaborated with many bands since 2009 and in those projects, I had little works to do. But in this project, I have to do everything by myself. I started recording in 2018 (summer) and first of all, I recorded the guitars then bass lines…afterwards drum programming and at last the vocals. Generally, you have to love your job to do it without any exhaustion.

MR: Curiously, according to your bio, your solo project is “Depressive Brutal Death Metal”, what is the reason to call it that way?

Because of a track called (Lucid Dream). I think it is a new thing in Death Metal Genre. As you know, Death Metal is about brutality, violence and topics like that. But this track is about regret and depression of bad things and the scales are not diminished. It’s new and many people and critics have endorsed it. By the way, I’m multi-style.

MR: Is Bloody Sadism a studio band only or do you have plans to play live?

I have plans for live shows. Let’s see what happens.

MR: What can you say about Iranian Metal?

In summary, there are few real bands in Iran and no official scene and marketing.

MR: Since March, the world has been in standby modus due to COVID-19. No band is touring or playing live, but some of them has been doing stuff using the social networks, what are you thinking about this?

I’m one of the bands… My show cancelled in March.  I don’t like the network shows.

MR: Send cheers to all the fans of metal.

Cheers to all of Metalheads around the world and thanks for your support.

MR: Thanks, Pooyan. It was an honour to interview you. Please tell us your social media to follow your career.

It was my pleasure, my friend.
