Testament – Dark Roots Of Thrash (Live Album Review)

Testament - Dark Roots Of Thrash

What can you say about a band like Testament that has been around for 30ish years and has been at the forefront of the thrash music scene since day one? A Double CD Live recording by Testament (one of the greatest thrash bands ever) was always going to be a thing a beautifully face-melting, in-your-face, balls to the wall, trashiness.

The only thing I can say is that, although I have never been a thrash fan I’ve always been aware of these guys and their music. Also, although I’ve never owned any of their releases if someone was to put on one of their albums I’d always headbang along as if they’ve been part of my musical diet on a daily basis since their 1st release, and this is exactly what I did when hitting play on this release.

You know who Testament are, you know what they do, you know this is going to be a quality release and you don’t need me to tell you this. So get what the hell are you waiting for? If you haven’t already got it, get it! Put it on, turn it up to 11 get your hands into the air in the devil horns position, and thrash the fuck out!!

In the meantime, I’m off to track down their back catalog.
