Sydney-based alt-rock sweethearts Days Like These release groovy new belter SOURPUSS, and will celebrate with an East Coast tour supporting Those Who Dream with Peni Parker in October.

Releasing off the back of March’s Show Me Love, their most successful single yet, SOURPUSS continues Days Like These exploration of pop-infused rock music. With radio-ready hooks and dynamic vocal performances, the young band resume their pursuit to bridge the gap between alternative guitar-based music and pop-leaning groove.

Produced, mixed and mastered with Chris Lalic, (Windwaker, he fresh new offering explores the theme of duality, with frontman Callen Batson explaining: “Like with anything else in this life, there is a give and take; a push and pull of feelings that we try our best to moderate but often struggle with, just like everyone else. As we’ve grown to be known for, we tied together these themes with frisky, tongue-in-cheek storytelling.”

With the launch of the new single, the band welcome a third member to the lineup. The duo become a trio with the addition of a mysterious character who goes by the name of Skumpy. “After meeting Skumpy in the most unpremeditated way, we just knew he was the right fit to bring the star power to our group. We’re excited to be joined by Skumpy, we’re excited to release SOURPUSS – one of the most fun pieces of music we’ve created – and we’re excited to see what the future holds”.

The fresh-faced three-piece will tour across the East Coast this October supporting Perth emo-pop rockers Those Who Dream with rising rock star Peni Parker. Presented by Destroy All Lines and Transgenre Festival, the tour will visit Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane – tickets on sale now!

SOURPUSS, Show Me Love and 2023 single PRIMADONNA have lead the way forward since theICONEP, showcasing electric energy, tantalising dance-pop grooves and soulful bass and vocal performances. The EP revisited the duo’s alt rock roots, combining driving rock foundations with splashes of glowing alternative charisma, forming the bridge between where the duo left off with their 2021 EP, Wide Awake and where they see themselves moving forward.

Their sophomore EP raked in hundreds of thousands of Spotify streams and counting and saw the duo travel around the country main supporting Against The Current (US) in late September. The EP featured singles ICON, Oblivion ft. Death Tour and Bloodshed. Each single was welcomed warmly by triple j with spins on multiple programs, and both Oblivion and Bloodshed found placement on ABC Rage, with Oblivion making it as feature video for a week in April. Bloodshed was also played on Channel 7 Friday Night AFL on release day. Days Like These burst onto the scene in 2018 and have worked tirelessly to become one of Sydney’s most exciting up and coming alt rock acts.
